Elex is a promising new brainchild of German studio Piranha Bytes, which, as we know, rose to fame and then fell into oblivion because of its RPG called Gothika. Developers have departed from their usual fantasy-medieval setting, offering users a new entourage. The game is made in sci-fi style, where futuristic technology side by side coexists with magic and all kinds of magic. The action will unfold on the planet Magalan, where up to a certain point life went on as usual. However, there was a huge cataclysm caused by a meteorite fall. A Space Body brought with it not only destruction and chaos, but also new material in the form of a substance that the locals dubbed "Elex". Extraterrestrial matter has affected planetary life, fundamentally changing the foundations of life. Elex is a crystalline substance that humans have adapted to their needs: they have made fuel from it, learned to use it as a weapon and mana, and some skilled craftsmen have even mastered its use. Although Elex is a role-playing game, it is largely dominated by the action genre, and from the first it got the general concept of the hero's development: improvement of skills with increasing level (made by teachers), and the need for equipment. The game focuses solely on non-linear exploration of the story in an open world, so there is no multiplayer component or local co-op. The game has damage resistance system implemented - different enemies will react differently to opponent's attacks: some are immune to magic, others to physical attacks. The endings of the story depend directly on the player's actions during the passage, and there are enough of them to return to the world of Elex more than a dozen times.
