Gloomhaven is a turn-based role-playing adventure based on the board game. In the world of Glumhaven, you can take control of a squad of mighty warriors who have gone into a dungeon to fight monsters. You have to destroy the evil standing in the way of the story's most important boss. Along the way you will be able to hire new charges for your squad, as well as to level up your heroes by upgrading their level and unlocking new abilities.

In the levels, protagonists will be able to interact with the surrounding objects, and some items can even help kill opponents. When you defeat goblins, orcs, demons, or bandits, each character gains experience to help build up your character's skill level. Gloomhaven has a special place for items that will fall out of slain opponents, as well as being in chests or hard-to-reach places in locations.

Combine the skills of your charges to deal maximum damage to the enemy, and thoroughly learn all the effects and buffs of the application of certain spells. Many abilities can negatively affect your allied forces, or conversely, can boost your strength, restore health, or hit your enemy.
