The plot of Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds is fairly loosely connected to the main game. The user will have to solve the problems of the Banuk tribe, which is infringed by robots. In their ignorance, the locals believe that the cause of this plague was the disfavor of a certain Demon.

The main character Eloi decides to risk herself to save the villagers from the plague falling on them. Arrogant, stubborn and stupid members of the tribe do not inspire much empathy from the player.
